TASKS

• Oversee the day-to-day activities of the accounting team (AP, AR and Accounts)

• Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards (HU GAAP / IFRS) in various entities

• Prepare monthly reconciliations, investigate and resolve any differences
• Lead month-end / year-end closing
• Co-operate with external accounting and payroll/tax service providers and auditors in several countries.
• Review tax calculations and ensure tax compliance
• Review and update financial/accounting policies regularly
• Ensuring compliance with legal requirements, monitoring changes in tax legislation and making recommendations for actions related to changes
• Optimizing internal controls and procedures
• Assist with year-end audits and in the preparation of monthly management accounts and the explanation of variances
• Assist in the preparation of ad hoc reports and system extracts
• Assist in system developments and automation of processes
• Managing team of 5-8 people

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

• Will have a degree / qualification in accounting.
• IFRS chartered accountant qualification is a plus
• At least 5 years of relevant accounting / controlling / audit experience working with IFRS and HU GAAP in an international business environment
• Experience working in Microsoft Dynamics Navision is a plus
• Strong people management experience - Minimum of 3 years direct people management role
• Manufacturing accounting experience is not essential but a strong plus.
• Accurate, with an ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks and good time management.
